Community rules for reviews, photos, check-ins, bar submissions, claims, reports, and moderation.

RankTheBar is a 21+ informational social discovery network where adults can share bar experiences, reviews, photos, check-ins, and recommendations. RankTheBar does not sell alcohol, arrange alcohol service, provide transportation, or encourage underage drinking, overconsumption, impaired driving, or unsafe behavior. Please drink responsibly, obey all laws and venue rules, and verify venue details directly with the bar before relying on them. Buzzed driving is drunk driving. Do not drink and drive. Use a designated driver, rideshare, taxi, or public transportation. If there is an immediate health or safety emergency, contact local emergency services.

Allowed Content

  • Useful, firsthand reviews about service, vibe, crowd, music, food, drinks, pricing, accessibility, parking, or venue details.
  • Photos you took or have permission to upload.
  • Good-faith bar corrections, venue submissions, duplicate reports, and safety reports.

Not Allowed

  • Fake reviews, paid reviews without disclosure, review suppression, impersonation, threats, harassment, hate, doxxing, spam, malware, or illegal activity.
  • Photos, videos, logos, menu scans, or other material that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Content encouraging underage drinking, impaired driving, overconsumption, illegal drug use, unsafe behavior, or attempts to evade venue rules.
  • Undisclosed sponsored content, compensated reviews, owner/employee reviews presented as independent, review suppression, or threats tied to reviews.

Moderation

  • RankTheBar can remove, limit, archive, or escalate content and accounts that violate these rules.
  • Reports are reviewed through the admin moderation queue. Repeat copyright or abuse issues can lead to strikes, account disablement, or preserved records for legal review.
  • RankTheBar does not promise to publish every review and does not remove lawful negative reviews merely because a venue dislikes them.
